Winsford Women's Day

Saturday 3rd March 2018, Winsford Academy, 10am - 4pm

Aims of Winsford Women’s day:

  • To increase awareness among women particularly of female centred services in their local area, including Motherwell.
  • To work in partnership with these services and agencies to empower women in the local area to take care of their mental and physical health.
  • To provide an informative, entertaining, relaxing event where women are celebrated and congratulated for their contribution to our community & our economy.
  • To provide an opportunity for local female led businesses to showcase their products.

Background to the local event

Motherwell is a key provider of services, support and signposting for women and mothers in the South Cheshire area. After some time of supporting women in our local area, Kate was becoming increasingly disappointed at the lack of awareness among women of the multitude of services available specifically for women in our local area. The idea for Crewe Women’s Day was born.

In 2016 using the old Crewe library as an exhibition base, a number of female centred service providers were invited to exhibit, alongside the “Mum’s the word” creative exhibition. As well as the exhibition which was free to the public, a couple of workshops were held in venues within the town centre which were very well received.

The event was well attended, well received and was covered by the local press.

After this success, Motherwell CIC have decided to extend the reach of this event to women (and the public) in Winsford, as well as run a repeat event in Crewe. (in the same week, but on different days)

Organisational Mission Statement
